A reasonably priced MP3 player.
MP3 players are everywhere but finding good, small devices that don't cost the earth can be tough. The Oracom ORC-200 looks like it fulfils all these criteria. The ORC-200 itself isn't much bigger than a packet of Tic-Tacs but it's a lot more use.
For a start, it's one of the smallest MP3 players we have seen with a screen. With smaller MP3 players, including Creative's Muvo, without a screen, navigating between tracks is a hit -and-miss affair. You can even make a customised logo to greet you when you power it up, as well as tweaking the bass and tone settings and other functions which are built in.
The supplied headphones are standard fare but buying a better quality set improves your comfort and the performance while you're listening. There is 128Mb of built-in storage, which is enough for around two albums of good-quality MP3 music. If you are prepared to sacrifice sound quality, that can be pushed up to four or five albums' worth of tunes.
With similar 128Mb devices costing over £100, this looks great value. The Oracom ORC-200 is a small, beautifully formed and desirable budget MP3 player.
