Keep your desk clutter-free with a wireless keyboard and mouse.
Cordless mice are now quite common but keyboards still tend to be wired to computers. A kit combining the two makes a good all-in-one upgrade for those who find their desks becoming too cluttered with cables.
The Logitech Cordless Desktop Express consists of a wireless keyboard and optical mouse, a cordless adapter and a software CD. To install it, unplug your old keyboard and mouse, plug in the adapter (it has two wires which connect to the back of the PC in place of the old ones), and you're ready to go.
The mouse is less bulbous than Microsoft's comparable offerings but it still fits snugly in the hand, and because it's optical, it's much smoother in use than old-fashioned ball mice. It also includes a vertical scroll wheel for quickly moving up and down the screen.
At first, the keyboard feels a bit flimsy but it stands up well to sustained use. Parents who are tired of wiping up sticky patches from clumsily held drinks will be relieved to find the keyboard is spill-resistant.
You can also install the i-Touch software from the CD, which allows you to customise the extra buttons on the keyboard and configure the mouse just the way you want it.
