Samsung's latest phone is slimmer and lighter than ever.
The Samsung SGH-C100 is one of the slimmest and lightest phones we have ever laid eyes on.
It also looks a little strange and, although difficult to put your finger on why, you will find yourself looking at the undoubtedly stylish handset, wondering exactly what it is that Samsung has done differently to other manufacturers.
The colour screen is extremely clear and Samsung has taken full advantage of this by animating its menu system. It has to be said, however, that this will not be to everyone's taste.
It comes loaded with 40 polyphonic ring tones which, depending on your preference, can be funny and interesting or just plain annoying.
Battery life is sufficient, there is plenty of space for text messages and phone numbers, and the different coloured lights - which can add a disco style - are another bit of fun.
Other than that, there is not a great deal to say about the C100. Samsung has decided to appeal to the area of the market that wants a phone to do what a phone has always done: make calls. It supports GPRS for those wanting to make data connections but there is no camera, only limited games and no MP3 player.

Our verdict
Overall: A basic phone that's designed to just make phone calls.
