Review: Nortek Office 200 Wireless Mouse peripheral

Other than gamers, few of us actually need anything from a mouse beyond the ability to work reliably and to feel comfortable to use.

As for the latter requirement, the Nortek Office 200 Wireless Mouse is quite good. ­ Like most mice we’ve encountered recently, it’s based on an ergonomic design, which looks a bit odd at first but works well.

It does feel a bit more plasticky than the average mouse from Microsoft or Logitech, for example, but this is merely a cosmetic factor.

There are two customisable buttons on the side of the mouse, as well as a scroll wheel on the top. Installation was easy, and involved plugging the USB receiver into a spare port, popping in some batteries and pressing a couple of buttons to connect the mouse; ­ all of which is explained in the manual.

This is all that’s needed to get the mouse up and running, although setting up the buttons does require the supplied software to be installed.

The USB receiver doubles as a charger, so there’s no need to change the batteries too often.

As a cheap wireless mouse we could find little wrong with the Office 200, but some users might find the overly plastic feel not entirely to their taste.
