Simple clear advice in plain English

Logitech QuickCam Sphere

A stylish webcam with robotic features - ideal for the 21st century.

The QuickCam Sphere takes the webcam into the 21st Century with its innovative design. It can be used with or without the 9in stand that allows it to be used at eye level. It connects easily via USB but you'll need to install the software to access all the additional features. The most impressive trait of the QuickCam is its face-tracking feature. Once the software is installed you can instruct the camera to automatically follow your face to keep you in central view even if you move around.

It mechanically pans and tilts, which enables it to follow you whether you move from side to side or up and down. It also has an automatic zoom option, so if you move closer or further away, you won't need to adjust it manually. It's quite eerie to watch it move around but it works extremely well and we were very impressed.

The camera can capture still images at a resolution of up to 1.3megapixels and video clips at 640 x 480. Its built-in microphone lets you add audio and video clips or instant messaging conversations.

Although it's pricey for a webcam, the QuickCam's robotic features are excellent and complement its stylish design.
