A dimimutive document scanner
The original Scansnap was a triumph of simplicity, offering a quick way to clear your desk of paper clutter. This update continues the tradition, but with improved intelligence, 15ppm (pages per minute) 600dpi duplex scan engine and stylish black and silver chassis.
The main change from the previous model is that now you get Acrobat 7 Standard bundled (worth £296 inc VAT), plus a plastic carrier sheet for scanning undersized or oversized documents.
In addition to the software gems of Cardminder (for business card scanning) and Abbyy Finereader OCR, you now get the Scansnap Organizer, a very basic document management tool.
If you're thinking of buying Acrobat Standard, don't bother - buy the Scansnap II Plus instead and get a wonderful desktop tool for just a few pounds more.
Pros:
Compact; fast; easy to use
Cons:
No Twain or Isis drivers
