Nvidia's alternative to ATI's X800 Pro graphics card.
The MSI NX 6800 Ultra T2D256 is Nvidia's alternative to ATI's new X800 Pro graphics card. Technically it is impressive and is equipped with a generous 256Mb of memory.
Physically, the T2D256 has a somewhat industrial design. It is large and requires rather a lot of your PC's power to get it going. Most computers should be able to accommodate it with little trouble, but if your PC already has a lot of devices installed (such as two CD or DVD drives) you should check to see if your machine is capable of supplying enough power.
Provided your PC is up to the task, the T2D256 offers better performance than the X800 Pro reviewed in issue 166. We tested it with a number of games, including the graphics-hungry Far Cry, and enjoyed silky smooth gameplay, even at the highest resolutions.
It is expensive, though, so unless you want the best from your games, look for more affordable cards.

It outperforms its rivals, but is hampered by its price tag and power demands.
