Sony Ericsson T610

A user friendly phone from Sony Ericsson.

Sony Ericsson phones have been criticised for being difficult to use, but this latest model has had a complete makeover and is now as usable as it is light and sleek.

All the usual features are present, such as a colour screen and tri-band so you can use the phone all over the world. The T610 also has a built-in camera, although the images are quite grainy. Photo-editing software is included but is fiddly to use and with images of this quality, there seems little point. That doesn't mean you can't have fun with the camera. You can set your snaps as the background on the handset's screen or send them to friends via email.

One of the T610's most appealing features is its web configurator, which sets up the phone to access the internet and send and receive emails and picture messages. For email and pictures, you'll need to subscribe to a mobile service that offers data services such as GPRS. To get started, visit the Sony Ericsson website and enter your details. The site will then send you the settings you need to get online in a text message.

It's not the cheapest phone available, but it's a quality handset that will be the envy of your friends.
