The Bebook Neo initially came in at £280 but is now available from Bebook’s own store (see below) at £229 which is more reasonable, but at over twice the current price of Amazon’s Kindle it would have to offer something spectacular.

Sadly, it doesn’t.

The Neo comes with a wireless network connection so that in addition to reading books on it, you can browse the web, although it’s not easy to download ebooks using the reader, as it is on the Kindle.

Web browsing worked well, but we found the wireless network connection procedure more hassle than it should have been.

The Neo is fairly well made, although we found the texture of the case quite unpleasant. The interface is disappointing and not enormously intuitive but it does have all the features you’d expect such as the ability to quickly resize text.

It uses the same e-ink screen as most ebook readers and has a touch-sensitive screen so you can use the supplied stylus to control it rather than the buttons.

This is a decent ebook reader but it’s far too expensive.
