Philips Brilliance 150P4

Superior image quality with this 15in TFT from Brilliance.

The Brilliance 150P4 is a simple 15in TFT that costs more than average but offers a superior picture quality.

It has a maximum resolution of 1024 x 768 and has both VGA or DVI connections. The screen is mounted on a neat double-hinged neck that allows you to lower the display to desk level or raise it four inches above the desk. It appears delicate but is actually quite sturdy.

The only special feature is the LightFrame function that enables you to select areas on the screen and brighten them up. While this is useful if you spend a lot of time editing photos or video, it's surplus to requirement for most home users.

The automatic display adjust is very quick and the on-screen display should be a lesson to all manufacturers on designing set-up menus. Other models employ all sorts of weird and wonderful menu systems but the 150P4 is straightforward and easy to navigate.

There is little to rival picture quality of this kind. We think the cost is well worth it even without the LightFrame gimmick.
