Olympus C-5060 Wide Zoom

The C-5060 is a 5.1 megapixel camera that features a wide-angle zoom lens. Without going into technical detail it means you can fit more in your photo than traditional lenses can.

The price tag puts it in the range of a professional SLR camera and it looks like one too. You can line up shots using the viewfinder or the large screen that can rotate, twist and swivel. A 4x optical zoom lets you get in tight on subjects and a macro mode is good for close-ups.

There are six automatic scene settings to help you get the best shot, four different exposure modes and a wide range of shutter speeds that, when used correctly, can produce some stunning shots.

Images are stored on the supplied 32Mb xD memory card but there are also additional slots for CompactFlash cards. There's also a cable for viewing images on a TV and the Olympus Camedia Suite software for transferring and editing your photos on a PC.

The C-5060 is a serious camera that will require time and patience to get results. For those looking for a digital SLR replacement, the C-5060 is a good buy.
