Simple clear advice in plain English

i-Buddie USB 2 HDD Housing

Turn your spare hard disk into removable storage.

If you have a spare hard disk lying around and can't work out what to do with it, then the i-Buddie HDD Housing could be just the thing you need. Just screw your hard disk into the box and it's transformed into removable storage that can connect to any PC via USB 2.

You can connect it to standard USB as well, although it will be slower to transfer files. The i-Buddie also draws power from this connection so you don't need an extra power supply to get it working.

There are two versions of the product available - one for notebook hard disks and one for desktops, although the concept remains the same.

We found that the installation instructions were a little basic but as hard disks can only be plugged in one way, it didn't take us long to connect it all up.

For the price, the i-Buddie is a brilliant way to make sure that you get the most out of a spare hard disk. Plus, you can use this method to increase storage on a computer that hasn't got enough space inside for a second hard disk or for one that you don't want to open up. The desktop computer version costs £27.
