A USB VoIP handset
The Waitec E-ZI Phone makes it easy to make calls over the internet using an internet-telephony program, such as Skype. It looks like an ordinary phone but has a USB plug on one end with which it connects to your computer.
You can assign speed dial numbers to your Skype contacts but you can't search using the phone as the keypad is void of letters.
As well as talking to your online Skype contacts, you can also make calls to ordinary phone numbers using the SkypeOut service. This works out at around 1p per minute. Most European countries can be sought as well as Australia and the US.
Windows can also make use of the E-ZI phone in programs such as MSN Messenger, although you do lose the ability to dial a number from the keypad.
The E-ZI Phone makes calls over the internet much more friendly as it's very similar to an ordinary phone. It's a worthwhile investment if you have broadband and want to reduce your phone bill.
