Nokia 7210

It may have a quirky keypad but that alone does not a winning mobile make.

You'll either love or loathe the Nokia 7210 but while you can at least change its cover, you're stuck with its quirky keypad.

It's a tri-band phone with general packet radio service and High Speed Circuit Switched Data support but there's no on-board Bluetooth, only infrared.

The 7210 is Nokia's first phone to have a 'Pop-Port' interface, which refers to a socket on the bottom that can be used to connect all manner of extras. The one you get in the box is a headset for hands-free use and for listening to the phone's built-in FM tuner.

Nokia phones are widely regarded as being the easiest to use and the 7210 is a prime example. Its large colour screen is very clear and the four-way control button makes getting around the logical menu system very straightforward.

As seems to be becoming the norm, the 7210 comes with a range of irritating polyphonic ringtones, plus there's a selection of games and utilities that can be added via the phone's Java software facility.
