Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 4000

A compact and impressive mouse for laptops

microsoft-wireless-mobile-mouse-4000

This small but perfectly formed mouse from Microsoft is designed to be used with a laptop computer.

To that end it’s slightly smaller than the average desktop model, and its tiny USB receiver fits neatly into a slot on the bottom when not in use. That said, it works just as well with any desktop PC.

As well as the usual two buttons it has a third smaller button to one side and a clickable wheel. One AA battery is required, and one is included in the box.

The Mobile Mouse 4000 uses Microsoft’s new Blue Track technology, and although we are not sure this is any better than the laser systems found in other mice it works well enough.

The product we tested came in a rather gaudy shade of yellowish green, but a range of other, nicer, colours are available. The recommended price of £35 is ludicrously high, it can be easily found online for less than £20.

At that price, it’s a good buy.

Don´t Buy it...

Hi there, here´s my experience with this mouse... first everything went well, man what a great mouse... i bought one the same time as a friende of mine, in 15 days he went to the shop 2 times to exchange it, because of the receiver started to overheat, then the mouse started not to respond to the hand movement, and then just stop recognise it, if you touch the receiver you could make an "egg" on it, it was very very hot. Finaly the third time he went to the shop, he brought one other model that is working fine...so far. Well mine... is just starting to give problems, i cannot work with it a hand away from my notebook, because is behaviour becomes irregular. Man i was very very glad with my MM 4000, until...
