Simple clear advice in plain English

Pinnacle InstantCopy 8

Perform disc-to-disc copies.

If you've got a CD-RW or recordable DVD drive fitted in your PC, the chances are you own software to copy discs. So why would you shell out £30 on a program that offers little more than the ability to perform disc-to-disc copies? Indeed, once you learn that InstantCopy can't deal with copy-protected DVDs, its existence seems even more curious.

Well, InstantCopy 8's abilities are limited but the little it does, it does well. It will appeal to those who create DVD movies, as a key feature of the software is on-the-fly conversion of DVD video discs to almost any other disc formats, such as Video CD (VCD) and Super VCD. This could provide a big saving on costs when making multiple copies.

InstantCopy 8 will make mirror images of CDs, regardless of copy-protection (the DVD movie industry is under tighter control). In addition, a second application called InstantDisc copies the content of a CD or DVD to the hard disk, enabling the user to access it as a 'virtual' drive, so the original disc needn't be present.
