Need help to get through your GSCE? Letts are on hand to assist.
GSP's latest range of Letts revision guides are just out, ready for the 2003-2004 exam season and this one covers every exam board, including Scottish Standard Grade. To ensure the program is tailored to your needs, on first launch you are asked to enter such details as when your exams are and how much time you wish to spend studying a week. From this information, Letts Revise puts together a suggested study plan with weekly goals and scheduled assessment tests.
Organisation is a key aspect of any successful revision plan so this is a very welcome feature, familiar to previous users of GSP's revision range. The core revision material is broken down into various main topics, which in turn are separated into small chapters. Each of these boasts a concise textual breakdown of key points accompanied by occasional diagrams.
Although the multimedia content is pretty basic, with only the odd animation or photo, it does the job.
At the close of each chapter there are two self-test sections that help to make sure that information has sunk in. There are also larger tests on the whole syllabus and several full practice papers. Finally, a useful section on how to use the disc and revise effectively is included.
The program has not changed much from the previous year's incarnation, although it's not as if it had to - the most important element is the updated syllabus material, as the rest of the program is sound. GSP also offers a very fair-minded £50 voucher if you don't get a C grade or better using the program.
