ADI S600s

A TFT monitor of excellent quality but high price.

Over the past couple of months, we've seen a range of TFT monitors appear around the £200 mark. While these budget offerings might be good for the bank account, they don't compare in quality to a more expensive model.

At just over £300 the 15in ADI S600s fits into the higher end of market and doesn't disappoint on quality.

Available in silver and black, the TFT comes with a tiny stand and takes up hardly any desk space. Aside from being small, the quality of the picture is top notch and displays vibrant colours.

It has a 120-degree viewing angle, which eliminates the problem with cheaper models where parts of the screen appear darker than others and looking at it from any view other than straight on means the image is obscured.

The sleek base of the monitor contains the simple controls for setting up the screen, although you should only really need to use the Auto button to align the 1024 x 768 display correctly.

For a TFT of this price it's a shame that there's no DVI connector, which many cheaper monitors already offer.
