Just when you thought your PC had reached the limit of usefulness those clever bods who invent things find a way of turning it into a TV too!
Waitec's Shining Tbox is essentially an external TV-tuner box for your PC, which allows you to use your monitor as a television set. Connect it up as directed by the laughably poor manual to your monitor, sound card and a TV-input and voila, your PC is a part-time television.
It won't let you record programs onto your PC's hard disk or anything fancy like that. It simply steals part of your PC's monitor (or all of it if you prefer) and lets you view television broadcasts.
All the TV functions are carried out using the supplied remote control. It also has composite video and phono inputs, which mean that games consoles can be used on the PC monitor rather than monopolising the television.
At just over £100, a small television is a compelling alternative to the Shining Tbox. If you can't spare the space or simply fancy adding TV to a PC with little effort, this will do the job.
