City of Heroes: Deluxe

As you might have judged from the picture, this online multiplayer game is set in the comic book world of superheroes. And we're pleased to say that it more than lives up to its fantastical premise.

For starters, designing your character is much more appealing than crafting an all-too-familiar elf warrior, and the gameplay is better than the bulk of its fantasy-based rivals.

It looks superb with colourful effects that light up the extraordinary fights. Thankfully, the combat system is as slick as the visuals and you'll quickly become hooked battling the craziest nutbags from around the world.

We also liked its intuitive, rapid gameplay, as this makes it easy for users of all abilities to get started. Unlike other games of the same ilk, you can enjoy City of Heroes: Deluxe in short bursts, which is perfect as it can get a little repetitive during longer sessions.
