Simple clear advice in plain English

Logitech QuickCam Zoom

A web camera from logitech.

Webcams are ten-a-penny these days so it's often the bundled software that can swing your choice from one product to another.

The QuickCam Zoom includes Logitech's usual webcam software, with options for capturing still pictures and video clips or broadcasting video on the internet. However, the company has also enhanced this software with a new feature called 'face-tracking'. This allows the camera to focus on your face and follow it around, so that you remain in the centre of the picture at all times. If you move further away from the camera, it will zoom in on your face to make the image look larger.

It's a really neat feature and works surprisingly well. Although the camera can't physically move to follow you, as long as you're in view it does a good job of keeping you in the centre of the frame. Mind you, it would help if Logitech bothered to mention this feature in the manual or the online help files. At 50 quid it's a very solid webcam with some nice features and good software.
