Samsung's new tiny camera phone.
Many new mobile phones incor-porate a camera and while the first generation were overly large, Samsung shows us that you can now build tiny versions, such as its V200.
Slightly smaller than a deck of cards, the phone has Samsung's familiar clamshell design that incorporates two screens - one either side of the lid. This means you don't have to open the phone to see who's calling you. Instead of mounting the camera on the lid, as is typical for this kind of phone, Samsung has integrated it into the hinge. The camera can swivel independently of the lid and - for vain people - take a self portrait.
The pictures are all low resolution, but on par with shots taken by the V200's rivals. Storage isn't a problem and the phone's memory can store 200 pictures or 500 names and numbers.
Once you have a good selection, you can either transfer the pictures to a PC using infrared or the provided USB cable, or use MMS or email to send them to friends. As the V200 is tri-band, it means you can keep in touch almost anywhere on the globe. While the menu system takes a little getting used to and the protruding aerial sometimes gets in the way, the V200 is well kitted out. Signing up for a new phone contract can even save a good whack off the usual asking price.
