A cheap desktop publishing package.
Desktop publishing (or DTP) software is often expensive, especially if you want more than just a blank page to work with. For £50, Publisher 4 offers a good range of templates and a reasonable collection of images and fonts to let loose your creative urges.
Following installation, you have the option to run through a tutorial or jump straight in with a blank canvas. If you're a beginner, it's best to start with a tutorial. A range of tools are available to create different shapes and to add graphics and text. If the bundled image collection is not to your taste, you can always import your own or edit existing ones by changing size and colour.
If you intend to be a regular user of design software, Publisher 4 is a good deal. It's not the flashiest product we've seen but the results still look professional. For anyone unfamiliar with publishing software, the tutorials are good and the CD-ROM comes with a guide to getting started.
