Simple clear advice in plain English

Nokia 3300

The latest mobile phone from Nokia which offers more than the ability to make phone calls.

The Nokia 3300 makes it clear what it wants to be used for - games, music and, if needs must, the occasional call.

Looking more like a games console than a mobile phone, it has a built-in MP3 player and comes with a 64Mb memory card. This is enough to hold around an album's worth of music at high quality, but you may want to buy a bigger card if you listen to a lot of music.

Music is transferred to the phone from a PC using the provided USB cable. When you tire of your own music, you can simply switch to the FM radio.

Where the 3300 really comes into its own is as a games console. Games are available for download but the four that come as standard will really show what the phone is capable of.

Making a phone call is no problem, as the phone uses Nokia's tried and tested interface, which is very intuitive. Battery life also impressed us, managing to take a full weekend of calls without a single recharge.

The 3300 isn't as good as the best MP3 players on the market, neither is it a GameBoy Advance, but as a hybrid of the two with a dose of hi-tech space-age styling to boot, it's difficult to beat.
