Impressive flat panel monitor from Philips
This 19in monitor sits at the top of Philips' Professional range. The design will suit most environments, while the screen can be swivelled and tilted as well as raised and rotated. Stereo speakers are built neatly into the casing, but don't expect thumping tunes from them.
We were impressed with Philips' three-year Perfect Panel guarantee: if the screen develops any defects at all, you'll be entitled to a repair or replacement. Many manufacturers require a group of defective pixels before a replacement is issued.
At the native resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels, colours are bright and realistic while the optional LightFrame feature boosts performance when watching movies.
The viewing angles of 160 degrees for both horizontal and vertical are more than adequate, while the good response time means there isn't any ghosting.
Digital and analogue connections are provided, as is a four-port USB hub. For those who can afford it, the 190P6 is a terrific monitor.
It's not cheap, but the 190P6 has decent features and performs extremely well
