Canon MP 150

Canon's latest all-in-one device prints in photo quality

canon-mp-150

The MP150, Canon's latest multifunction device, is branded with its Pixma logo indicating that it should be capable of high-quality photo printing.

The MP150 is not much bigger than a standard good quality inkjet. Although there are several buttons on the front panel, the display only shows one digit, representing the number of copies to be made in copy mode, and other things in other modes.

The codes are not clear, so a flick through the manual is needed at first to find out exactly what's going on.

However, the buttons are quite easy to follow and for simple copying the device is easy to use. Print quality in text mode was poor, however, with visible ink bleed on plain paper where the edges of characters are blurred due to ink seeping into the paper.

Photo quality was better, with bright, vibrant colours and decent results even on plain paper.

Printing is fast, with the MP150 reaching seven pages per minute in text mode and taking 55 seconds to print an A4 image in normal quality or 130 seconds in high quality.

Scanning speed was slow, however, taking 71 seconds to scan an A4 page at 150dpi, although to scan at 300dpi took only four seconds longer.
