Lexmark P6250 Home Photo All-in-One

Printer/scanner/photocopier with six-colour ink system

The Lexmark P6250 is one of a new breed of printer/scanner/photocopier machines determined to further serve as image-editor and photo-developing lab.

It has a 2.5in colour display and a memory card reader that reads almost every format under the sun. Slot in a memory card from a digital camera and the P6250 displays the images on its screen. Now you can rotate, crop or brighten images before printing. Basic editing tools, yes, but handy.

The six-colour ink system means great print quality, and it's fast, too: under five minutes for an A4 photo and a minute or so for 6 x 4in prints. However, if you are planning on doing a lot of printing, replacing the six ink cartridges regularly could become expensive.

The scanner and copier functions also work well. Like photo printing, copying doesn't need any computer involvement.
