Muvee AutoProducer 4

An easy but productive way to make creative home movies

If you think of movie making in terms of storyboards and timelines, clips, edits, trims, special effects and all the rest, you would be right. But there is an alternative, and this is it.

Muvee AutoProducer lets you compile a movie project in simple stages. Start with some raw footage captured from a digital camcorder, or use any saved video file - you can throw a few still images into the mix too.

Choose some MP3 background music, pick a style, tell Muvee how long you want the finished movie to be, and let the magic commence. The result is a professional looking video complete with scene transitions, soundtrack, opening titles and end credits.

The handy 'MagicMoments' feature lets you play your raw video in a preview window and click on thumbs up to flag segments for definite inclusion or thumbs down for definite exclusion.

The real gem, though, is the style section. AutoProducer has a selection of templates that determine the overall look and feel of the project. You might, for instance, pick Classic Sepia for an old movie style with slow fades and transitions, or Flower Power for a vibrant, psychedelic approach. Results can be previewed before you save the movie, so if you don't like the result just pick another style and try again.

Finished projects can be saved in a range of video formats, including MPEG-1, MPEG-2, Windows Media Video and DivX. Version 4 also comes with built-in basic DVD authoring.
