F-Secure Internet Security

Protect your PC and your pocket with this all-in-one security suite

Anyone who's connected to the internet these days needs to have a whole fleet of security tools running and it's more convenient to purchase an all-in-one product rather than picking up separates.

When it comes to such matters, many people will instinctively choose well-known brand names such as Norton and McAfee, but don't let the fact that F-Secure is a relative newcomer to the home PC market put you off Internet Security. The company has been providing big businesses with security products for years.

Internet Security provides an antivirus program, a firewall, spam protection and parental controls. It's a doddle to set up. Within a few mouse clicks it was ready to protect our test PC against any net nasties.

Once installed, Internet Security integrates smoothly into Windows Security Centre, regularly updating itself to maintain a constant level of protection. So, for the most part, you can forget it's even there.

It has a couple of useful extras too: news updates on the latest security threats, for example, and built-in protection from rogue diallers.

For the fullest protection, you have to 'renew' the program every year, which costs £39. However, Internet Security is still about £15 cheaper than any of its competitors.
