Intempo KTB-01

A good value DAB radio

Most parts of the UK can now receive digital audio broadcasts (DAB), so getting yourself a digital radio will give you access to a growing number of radio stations. Moreover, you'll be free of the interference and poor sound quality of analogue AM/FM stations.

Intempo's KTB-01 is both mains and battery powered, so you can listen to the radio pretty much anywhere. Once turned on, the KTB-01 automatically searches for available DAB stations. Eight favourite stations can be stored and it switches easily between DAB and FM radio signals.

The blue screen displays song and artist information, plus the time and latest news headlines. Eight silver buttons let you set the alarm, tune into radio stations, select your favourites and use the sleep function.

The volume control is located in the centre and there's a headphone socket too. It comes in four colours: Beech, Baby Pink, Slate Grey and Double Cream.

The KTB-01 produces a clear, high-quality sound even when the volume is turned right up. It's certainly worth taking a look at.
