Samsung P2370

A television-style computer screen

samsung-p2370

Samsung’s computer monitor designers have clearly been taking tips from the company’s television department, as the P2370 shares its superb looks with the company’s televisions rather than with the staid world of computer screen design.

It’s a 23in widescreen model with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, which means it can display so-called Full HD movies. A 23in display is a bit small for that sort of thing, but as a computer display the resolution is about right.

The sleek design extends to the buttons: there aren’t any. Instead there are touch-sensitive controls – lightly brushing the one at the front will switch it on and off, for instance, and the rest of the controls light up attractively when you do so.

Picture quality was very impressive, with bright colours and clear images and text. The only connection is a DVI socket for computers, so it can’t be used as a screen for your Blu-ray player, but apart from that this is an impressive product.
