Apple’s latest phone product is this, the eagerly awaited iPhone 4.

Superficially it’s fairly similar to the previous models – it still has the sleek black and white styling, the shape is largely the same, and the screen is exactly the same size as it was before.

The biggest difference in terms of the looks is that the plastic back of the 3G and 3GS models has been replaced with a toughened glass panel that does look very good.

Unfortunately glass can be quite a lot more brittle than plastic, and the iPhone was already susceptible to damage from knocks.

As you can see, the back panel on this iPhone 3G, which we’ve had for 18 months, has a small crack in it after being dropped.

We haven’t managed to drop this one yet, but we can see the glass panel cracking fairly easily.

The iPhone 4’s rear camera has been upgraded to five megapixels and it now has a front facing camera too. That allows people to make use of the Facetime video-calling feature, which we’ll be talking about in the next video.
