Make your own music with this production package.
Rock Producer is another music production package that allows you to construct songs simply using supplied samples or sound clips.
Samples are loaded into a 'pool' on the left of the screen then dragged to an audio canvas. Once in place you can apply effects to change the texture of the sound.
The effects allow you to perform powerful editing processes such as panning, filtering and time stretching to make the samples shorter or longer without affecting the pitch - all things that a professional studio would do.
The interface is straightforward but it's not very exciting to look at, sporting little more than functional dials and sliders. The provided sample library is woefully small, especially compared with similar packages that offer thousands of samples.
Rock Producer supports both MP3 and Wav files, which means your own samples or tracks can be inserted. Unfortunately, there isn't enough content in Rock Producer to keep a novice engaged for long.
If you're a rock fan and want to make music this is adequate but you'll probably get more satisfaction from a cheap electric guitar.
