Start a website from scratch
We looked at the Pro version of Mr Site a few months back, and concluded that it wasn't quite powerful enough to justify the £100 price.
The Beginner edition costs just £20 and although it lacks the advanced features found in the more expensive version it's much better value for beginners (hence the name, of course).
It's easy to use – everything is done step by step, and the instructions are clear and easy to follow. It also includes a year's subscription to a website name (such as www.yourname.com). Although only five pages can be created, this will be enough for many people starting a simple family website. More can be added by paying a fee.
Users can switch between simple mode – in which all the templates are automatic and pages can be made by just typing text into the appropriate boxes – and creative mode, which is much more powerful and allows more design control. Even in simple mode, it's possible to change the look and colours of the template.
Although it's limited in terms of design and the number of pages, Mr Site Beginner is ideal for newcomers to web design, as it allows people with no design experience to create a good website.
It's true that blog creation sites can do the same for no cost, but Mr Site is easy to use and includes the website name.

Mr Site is OK but . . .
This is a good basic piece of design software, especially in view of its price. Be aware, however, if you need to update your text pages at all often (I have cause to do this once a week) that its little foibles are very annoying. Cutting & pasting from a Word document is hardly ever successful as formatting goes astray - much easier to paste into Notebook & THEN cut & paste into Mr Site. Text seems to favour flowing on to the next line BUT with a line space in between. If you want to change font or size of text, be certain to highlight the text ONLY, not including even one character space beyond it or it probably won't work . . . etc!

Fantastic Website Bulding Tool
I think Mr Site is fantastic and their content editor very easy to use. I have tried many website building tools and none of them will support "copy & paste" from word. this is because once you copy from word you also copy a lot of word tags which will be included behind your html page.
