TDK DVD Writer Double Layer 8x

The TDK DVD Writer Double Layer 8x can copy around 8.4Gb of data to a single disc - roughly equivalent to the amount of data you can store on seven CDs.

Included in the box is a copy of Nero Express 6, which allows you to create data back-ups and DVD movies. A single blank DVD+R disc is also included. Unfortunately, this can only be written to at a maximum of 4x, but if you buy appropriate discs, you can burn 8.5Gb of data in around 20 minutes.

If you have a basic knowledge of PC hardware, it's fairly easy to install. The supplied set-up poster is well prepared but the language isn't always clear. As a result, inexperienced users could get confused and may want to opt for an external DVD writer instead.

It's quite pricey, but if you can look past this, this is one of the better, boxed recordable DVD drives on the market.
