Does this TFT monitor have more than just good looks on offer?
The 153B is an understated 15in TFT monitor with an inch-wide bezel. Mounted in the bottom section of the bezel is a pair of speakers that are pretty poor and are only really suitable for basic Windows sounds.
However, it does have an audio-out socket for connecting a set of external speakers or headphones. This is always useful and more convenient than plugging them into the back of your PC.
It comes with effective, straightforward colour-matching software allowing you to tweak the screen's colour settings as well as printer calibration.
The on-screen controls aren't as good as many of the other monitors we've looked at recently but they shouldn't take long to get to grips with. The automatic screen set-up is effective and good enough to get you started before loading the drivers from the CD provided.
Peculiarly, there is no pivot software included to support the rotate option that allows the screen to be moved by 90 degrees, affording you a longer viewing area for portrait-orientated text documents or pages from the web.

Overall:
A good-looking monitor - shame about that lack of pivot software.
