Wassup G? Realise your dreams to become an MC - bro, with Hip Hop eJay.
If you're looking for a simple way to make music on your PC, any of the eJay products will meet your requirements. Now in its fifth outing, HipHop eJay is aimed squarely at the B-boys and B-girls - the hip hop fans of the PC music market.
It comes with more than 4,000 bass, guitar, keys, vocal, drum and sound effects samples that can be dragged and dropped onto the track arranger to create a tune. While owners of previous eJay incarnations will be familiar with the interface, newcomers might find it less intuitive. It certainly looks impressive but for some, getting started will mean a detailed read of the manual to learn even the basics.
New additions to HipHop eJay 5 include the Scratch Kreator, which allows you to create your own vinyl-scratch effects - essential to any Hip Hop tune - and the Rap 'n Record feature, which offers a chance for Eminem wannabes to spit out their own verbal assaults and paste them into a tune.
There's a load of extra audio-editing and creation tools for advanced users and once a track is complete, you can record it on CD. It requires 1.2Gb for a full installation but considering the size of today's hard disks, this shouldn't be a problem.

Our verdict
Overall: Still an excellent tool for making music but hip hop recruits may find the interface daunting.
