A smart and compact storage device.
Iomega's Mini 128MB USB Drive is the company's first new product for a while but the basic premise of the Mini is not new.
USB storage devices have been around for a couple of years but Iomega believes its new product has enough features to make it stand out.
The first feature is its size. It's the smallest we've seen and weighs a mere 20g. Transferring your files is an effortless task and you can store anything from movie clips and pictures to documents and MP3 files.
As supplied, there is a link stored on the drive which launches the Iomega website. From here, you can download Mini Lock software to password-protect your files so that if you lose the tiny device, nobody will be able to get your information.
The Active Disk tool feature also calls up the Iomega website, but this time automatically downloads a file viewer.
There are 80 viewers to allow you to view file contents, even if the PC you are using doesn't have the application installed.
The Mini is also available in 64MB and 256MB versions. Windows 98 users will need to install a driver before they can use the drive.
