Earphones that won’t fall out of your ears
Here at Computeractive we are not big fans of in-ear earphones, often because we can't get them to stay in our ears – you will usually find most of us in the office buried between a pair of large ‘can'-style headphones.
But TDK's EB-900s achieved the impressive distinction of being able to stay in our ears no matter how hard we tried to dislodge them. The small pack includes the phones, a small pouch and different-sized tips to suit the user's ears.
However, it also comes with a pair of foam tips already attached, and made by a separate company called Comply. We found that these worked the best. However, bear in mind that Comply's website recommends replacing the tips every so often.
Unlike most in-ear sets, the EB-900's ‘buds' stick out from the user's ears, which made them easier to fit and stay in, although they looked a little odd.
Sound quality was good for a cheap set of earphones, with a little too much bass response (which will suit modern dance and pop music fans), but not enough to muddy things in general. They are available from Amazon, at the time of writing, for £20, which is a good deal.
