A green mouse that doesn’t cost the earth
The Eco mouse is made of bio-degradable materials
This simple mouse doesn't have any special features or programmable buttons, but it does have one distinguishable feature: it contains no plastic.
It's made from two ‘plastic substitutes': Arboform and Biograde, both of which are made from wood-industry and paper-making by-products. They are more eco-friendly than plastics (hence the name), so even if the mouse ends up in a landfill site it will still be better than a plastic mouse. Fujitsu assured us that it won't start to degrade until it's broken up.
It looks and feels like a normal mouse – in fact, the textured surface covering is slightly rough and pleasant to the touch. Besides the standard left and right buttons it has a central wheel for scrolling.
The design is conventional, but it's a good size (11cm from front to back and at most 6cm side-to-side) and comfortable in most hands.
As a USB-connected device, the mouse was automatically recognised by all the computers (Windows, Mac and Linux) we tried, with no software required, and at the price, it's great value too.
