Photo books direct from the source
The photo book is available in several sizes
We looked at a photo-book printing company called Pixum last year, and Cewe does a similar job.
In fact, it does a very similar job, and that's because Pixum and lots of other photo-printing services (Jessops, Wilkinson, WH Smith and Amazon, among others) actually use the services of Cewe to make their books.
But if you prefer to go straight to the source you can order one direct from Cewe. The software to make the books is available from the website and was easy to install.
The software, again, is that used by Pixum and other companies, so if you have ordered and saved books from them you can load them into Cewe's software. It has good options for photo placement, rotation and captioning.
Once ordered, the book arrived promptly in a few days, though the postman had creased it rather badly to fit it through the letterbox. It's a shame Cewe hadn't marked the parcel with ‘do not bend'. Cewe tells us that this was down to a temporary glitch and that in future packages will be suitably marked.
Other than that, the book looked good and was good value, though in most cases no better than from the other services.
