Assassin's Creed Brotherhood action game

Another killer follow-up for the acrobatic action series

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood

Brotherhood picks up the plot right after Assassin’s Creed II. You play as Ezio Auditore, a member of a clandestine Assassin’s Guild in early 16th century Rome

Released on consoles at the end of 2010, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood has finally made it to the PC. If you are unfamiliar with the premise of the series, the idea is that your character is able to leap back into the past and relive key memories of an ancestor at particular points in history.

Brotherhood picks up the plot right after Assassin's Creed II. You play as Ezio Auditore, a member of a clandestine Assassin's Guild in early 16th century Rome. The story follows Ezio as he battles the ruling Borgia family and attempts to reclaim a lost artefact known as the Apple of Eden.

Along the way you will meet plenty of interesting characters, including Leonardo Da Vinci, and encounter a wide range of missions across a large, open map that gets even bigger as you unlock new areas. Combat and parkour-style exploration are the main gameplay elements. The controls can be a little tricky to get the hang of; we would definitely recommend playing this with a gamepad if possible.

The key to the game's success lies in its variety. Just as you think you might have seen it all, Brotherhood will surprise you with a fresh twist on the gaming mechanics. For instance, at a certain point in the game you get to train your own apprentice assassins and use them in combat.

It's a classy, generous package too, with a lengthy single-player campaign, extra content and an enjoyable multiplayer component. Although the PC version is a little late to the party, it has definitely been worth the wait.
