Charge your laptop and gadgets in the car or in the air
Last year we looked at the Innergie mCube Pro travel charger for laptops and other devices.
The same company's mCube Mini charger is along the same lines, though where that one worked in homes, cars and aircraft, this model is only suitable for cars and aircraft, not homes – it won't work off the mains.
It's a smaller device, consisting of a 2in-long box with fixed cables at each end. There's a switch to choose between the two voltage ranges it supports (15-17v and 18-21v). On one of the cables you attach one of the supplied adapters – it comes with a neat bag of 10 tips for different laptop makes (see the previous review for the list).
On the other cable attaches one of the two supplied power adapters, one for cars and one for aircraft. The car charger also has a USB socket to charge any USB-chargeable device and the aircraft one fits the ‘Empower' sockets on some flights. In fact, many airlines fit standard plug sockets or car-style sockets, so with the mCube Mini and a standard adapter you should be covered either way.
Our only qualm is that the strap on the bag broke when we tried to close it but this had no bearing on the working of the adapter. At £70 it's expensive but we found it for under £30 online which makes it a bargain.
