Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro portable USB3 hard disk

Portable, fast storage with online backup

Hitachi Touro Mobile Pro

The slimline, glossy black case is just 15mm thick – in fact it looks a bit like an iPhone

Hitachi's Touro Mobile Pro is a neatly designed portable hard disk that provides good performance and features at an attractive price.

The slimline, glossy black case measures just 15mm thick – in fact it looks a bit like an iPhone – so it's easy to slip into a backpack or briefcase when you're on the move with a laptop.

It has a USB3 socket, and proved to be about three times as fast as an older USB2 disk when backing up files in our tests.

However, you don't need to buy a new PC with USB3 ports in order to use it, as it will still work with existing computers that only have USB 2 (although you won't get the full speed of USB3 that way).

Hitachi also gives users 3GB of online storage when they buy the Touro, and the Hitachi Backup software included with the disk allows users to automatically back up their files onto both the Touro itself and onto the internet storage as well so that they have an extra level of protection for important files.
