Simple clear advice in plain English

Cherry Kids Mouse JM-C01

A little mouse for small hands

Apart from the black and bright yellow design, the mouse is fairly plain

We have reviewed mice this small in the past, but they are usually billed as ‘travel' mice, which doesn't make a lot of sense – mice are so small these days anyway that there's little point in taking an even smaller mouse on a trip.

The Cherry Kids Mouse (with slightly annoying missed apostrophe), model JM-C01, is the same size as those mice – 9cm front to back – but it's being marketed as for children. It might make a good companion to the Cherry keyboard for children.

Apart from the black and yellow design, the mouse is fairly plain; it just has the standard two buttons and a central scroll wheel, all of which were quite sturdy and comfortable. It connects to the computer over USB, and the cable is extra long so children, who of course tend to have shorter arms, don't have to reach as far.

It also has a higher resolution, which means the pointer moves more slowly on the screen, again useful for learners. If you're finding that your child is having trouble grasping a full-size mouse, this would be a good alternative.

The Cherry Kids Mouse is available from Kikatek
