Kensington Absolute Power Charger review

Power your mobile gadgets with just one charger

The Kensington Absolute Power is a reasonably priced replacement charger that will appeal to frequent travellers

The Absolute Power is a replacement laptop charger no bigger than a portable USB hard disk. Its ribbed black appearance is pleasing and it comes with interchangeable tips so it works with modern laptops from all the big-name manufacturers. The notable exception is Apple - the Macbook maker refuses to license its Magsafe power adapter plug design.

The Absolute Power also has two USB ports, one full-size port as well as a microUSB connector, so it can simultaneously charge a smartphone, a tablet and your laptop. An adapter is included allowing another full-size USB cable to be plugged into the microUSB port. The charger is rated for 100W so it should be able to power most devices, except for exceptionally power hungry desktop replacement laptops.

Included are UK and European power leads, although we wish they were a little longer. Oddly, no US power lead is included. A carry case or cable ties to keep everything tidy would also have been appreciated.

The Kensington Absolute Power is a reasonably priced replacement charger that will appeal whether you're a frequent traveller or if you simply have over burdened wall sockets at home.
