Microsoft's portable mouse that connects via Bluetooth
The Wedge mouse connects to any Bluetooth-equipped PC
The Microsoft Wedge Touch Mouse is designed for use with Windows 8 laptops and tablets, but it also works with Windows 7 and Mac computers too. This portable mouse could be handy if you don't like using laptop touchpads. The Wedge mouse connects wirelessly over Bluetooth and comes with a single AA battery for power. The mouse can be switched off using a small switch on the bottom to save power.

The Wedge mouse paired simply and quickly with our Bluetooth-equipped computer and moving the cursor was smooth and accurate. The Wedge mouse has two buttons and a touchsensitive strip in place of a scrollwheel for scrolling. This works well, but to scroll horizontally you need to move your finger vertically up and down the strip which isn't intuitive and can take some getting used to. This odd design choice also makes it tricky if you want to scroll horizontally in a document that can also be scrolled vertically.
The biggest problem with this mouse is its shape. The flat wedge-like shape and small size make it incredibly uncomfortable to hold for any length of time. Given its painfully awkward design, the Wedge mouse is not good value.

Our verdict
Even if you only want a portable wireless mouse for occasional use, the Wedge is a very poor choice
Smooth cursor motion
