An easy-to-use mouse that’s sculpted for your hand
Instead of a scroll wheel there is a touch-sensitive strip for both horizontal and vertical scrolling
The Microsoft Sculpt Touch Mouse is a wireless mouse that connects to your computer over Bluetooth. No USB adapter is included, so you will either need to have Bluetooth built into your computer or you'll need to buy an adapter separately. It's powered by a pair of AA batteries which are included.
Cursor movement was generally smooth, although it was a little jittery at times. We'd have preferred more feedback from the mouse buttons, which have a slightly soft action, but that's quibbling. The mouse is small enough to carry around easily in a laptop bag, although some may prefer a larger, chunkier design that fills the hand.

Instead of a scroll wheel there is a touch-sensitive strip for both horizontal and vertical scrolling. A small motor inside the mouse vibrates gently when scrolling, so you still get tactile feedback when using the strip. The horizontal scrolling is especially useful for navigating the Windows 8 Start screen without a touchscreen.
The Sculpt Touch Mouse's shape and touch strip won't suit everyone so if you're tempted, then try before you buy. Alternatively, buy from a retailer with a good returns policy.
