The program has a full anti-virus component, firewall, spyware remover and an
anti-phishing feature. It can also be used to back up files and other important data to a secure online service, or to CDs, DVDs or an external hard disk.

Norton 360 can also be used to remove unwanted internet clutter and temporary files that can slow your computer’s performance.

The anti-virus part of the Norton 360 suite offers detection and cleaning of viruses and spyware, backed up by the world’s largest security response network, working round the clock to protect against the most recent viruses and threats.

It includes intrusion-prevention technology to defend against internet worms, and a vulnerability assessment. Norton 360’s firewall keeps the PC securely locked against online threats, and the software can also automatically protect users of instant messaging software, by making sure all files transmitted are fully scanned.

The anti-phishing filter provides protection against dangerous websites and online scams that seek to part internet users from their money. It also verifies shopping and banking websites to certify authenticity.

Norton’s 360 backup feature can help prevent against data losses caused by security breaches or simple hardware failure, by backing up important documents and programs.

It includes 2GB of secure online storage space for backups so you don’t need to worry about copying to a CD or external hard disk, but those facilities are also provided. Extra online space is available.

Norton 360 covers up to three computers in one household for one year, and users receive free software updates over the internet. Norton 360 costs £60 but for a chance to win a free copy, just answer the question to the right.
