Competition ends: 03 April 2008

It may be possible to buy a bargain PC at a knockdown price but if you want the best performance for games or other demanding tasks, such as video editing, something with a little more power is required. Computeractive has teamed up with Packard Bell to offer one winner a Packard Bell iPower computer.

This Packard Bell iPower has an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor. These chips are effectively four processors in one, giving the computer a boost whenever it is doing more than one thing at a time. The result is less disruption from background tasks such as anti-virus and spyware scans.

The iPower's 2GB of memory is plenty to keep Windows happy, good gaming performance is assured with an Nvidia Geforce 8800GTS graphics card and the 360GB hard disk provides plenty of space for games and video files.

An often forgotten aspect of computing is the mouse and keyboard supplied with the computer. The Microsoft Habu mouse has a stylish black and blue design and Teflon underside for the best possible control. The sensitivity of the mouse can be adjusted on the fly to suit gaming or ordinary Windows use.

The Reclusa keyboard has a backlight and plenty of programmable keys. The six gaming keys can even be set up to run a macro, a preset series of key presses, to give an extra edge in games.

A copy of Microsoft Windows Vista Home Premium is installed on the iPower. As well as normal day-to-day jobs, Vista Home Premium includes Windows Media Center for watching films and listening to music.

For your chance to win this great computer, simply answer the question shown on the right before 3 April 2008.
